A constructivist approach for introducing the figurative language of poetry

Abstract

This contribution proposes a constructivist game-based approach to the study of poetry adopted in Italian lower secondary schools. The approach treats poetry in a direct, free, creative and heuristic way. It features a collective game that uses metaphors as a way to introduce students to the figurative language of poetry and its extraordinary evocative and expressive power.
